You must notify NYCHA about the conditions in your apartment by calling the Customer Contact Center at 718-707-7771. You will get a ticket number for each repair. Make sure you write down each ticket number. You will need this if the repairs are not done and you decide to take NYCHA to court.
If you have complaints about conditions in the public areas (halls, stairs, entrance, lobby), you can ask for a “public space” ticket number. You can also send a letter to the management office describing the conditions. Take two copies of your written complaint to the office. Make sure they stamp your copy so you have proof of when they received it.
