The court is restarting cases against tenants that were filed before March of 2020. If you had a case with a judgment or warrant, the landlord has to file with the court before evicting you. You should get a letter telling you about a new hearing. Almost all tenants in these cases, even those who were over income, will get legal representation thanks to the Right to Counsel law.
Call our hotline right away if you get papers saying that your case is going to be heard in court. Hearings now are virtual and take place on Microsoft Teams. You will not have to go to court in person.
