If your OSC is approved, you will be given three copies: one for you, one for the landlord or attorney, and one for the marshal.
The approved OSC will include:
date, time, and room number of your return hearing
The names and addresses of the landlord’s attorney
the name and address of the marshal
how you must serve the lanldord’s attorney and the marshal
the deadline to serve the papers
Follow the instructions you get from the judge or court officer carefully. You may have to send the papers by first class mail with certificate, or you may have to serve the papers personally. Keep proof that you served the papers.
To stop the eviction you must serve the papers correctly. Do not leave the courtroom until you are sure that you understand how you are supposed to serve the papers.
