Roommate Left

If a roommate physically left the apartment but left their things and did not return the keys, the roommate has not surrendered their right to the room.

As the prime tenant, co-tenant, or landlord, you can not remove their possessions without their permission. If you do, the roommate can sue you in court for damages when the courts reopen.

If you have further questions, call our hotline at (212) 962-4795.
