How can I get help paying back rent?

The One Shot Deal from public assistance is the biggest source of assistance.

There are also charities that help to pay some of the arrears.

The HomeBase program may also help you pay some or all of the rent that you owe.

If you are receiving ongoing public assistance and have children under 18 in the house, you may qualify for FEPS.

HRA has offices in Housing Court and job centers around NYC. You can start an application for a One Shot Deal, find the status of a previous application, or get a printout of benefits that were already paid to the landlord.
