Write a letter to the manager.
Write interim recertification grievance at the top of the letter. Tell them that you asked to lower the rent but they didn’t lower it. Tell them you want to file a grievance.
Take the letter to your manager and get a stamped copy.
The housing manager will meet with you within 10 days. If the manager does not meet with you or you disagree with his decision, write to the Borough Management Office.

Tell them that you are writing because your rent was not lowered and you think this is wrong. Explain why you need the rent lowered. Put the date you asked them to lower the rent. Send them a copy of your proof.
If you do not agree with the decision or do not get an answer, request a hearing at 250 Broadway.
