Updates on NYCHA Housing Court cases

For tenants who get notices of discontinued cases: NYCHA has moved to discontinue approximately 30,000 pre-pandemic housing court cases where there are no more arrears or the case was a multiple of an already pending case.  If the tenant does nothing, the case will be discontinued. If the tenant had a stipulation with repairs, rent adjustments or other things that were not done, the tenant can appear in the case and ask for completion of those repairs, etc.

NYCHA is moving forward with some termination of tenancy cases – those will get scheduled for assignment of counsel before any hearing is scheduled or resumed.
